This successful family owned restaurant began its history in 1948 when a man named Bernard Fischer came to Cocoa Beach and opened a restaurant called “Bernard’s Surf”. It didn’t take very long for the restaurant to be quite popular back then, even among celebrities.
In 1965 Bernard Fischer passed away and his family then handed over the restaurant to Rusty Fischer, his nephew. Rusty was still in college at the time, but as he felt that he must continue his family’s legacy, he finally came home and started running the business since 1988 and changed the name to Rusty’s Seafood & Oyster Bar. Now after nearly 70 years, the restaurant keeps getting more popularity and keeps serving the community.
Rusty’s Seafood & Oyster Bar is open 7 days a week from 11 am to 9.30 pm Sunday-Thursday and from 11 am to 10 pm in Friday and Saturday.
